Korean skincare in the UAE and Saudi Arabia: how to buy the real thing

Korean skincare products laid out from cleansing oil to cream

Korean skincare is everywhere in the UAE and Saudi Arabia now, from Anua and Beauty of Joseon to COSRX, SKIN1004 and Round Lab. Popular products are also the ones most often copied. A fake toner or sunscreen is not just a waste of money: you have no idea what is in it or how it was stored. Here is how to buy the real thing locally.

Buy from stores that stock the brand themselves

The safest option is a store that buys directly from the brand or its official regional distributor:

  • Pharmacies and beauty chains such as Nahdi, BinSina, Life Pharmacy, Faces and Nice One, which stock Korean brands on their own shelves and websites.
  • Official brand stores on Amazon and noon. On Amazon, check the “Sold by” line. On noon, look for the brand’s own store name or “Sold by noon”.
  • The brand’s own regional website, if it has one.

Our price comparison only lists local stores in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, so you can see which of them carries a product and where it costs least.

Be careful with marketplace sellers

On big marketplaces, the same product page can have many sellers. Most are genuine, but this is where copies usually appear. Be cautious if:

  • the price is far below every other store (a 50% discount on a best-seller that is never on sale elsewhere is a warning sign),
  • the seller has few ratings or very new reviews,
  • reviews mention a different smell, colour or texture, or a missing seal.

Check the product when it arrives

  • Packaging: printing should be sharp, with no spelling mistakes. Compare it with photos on the brand’s official site.
  • Seal: most products have a seal, foil or shrink wrap. Don’t use a product that looks opened.
  • Batch code and expiry date: they should be printed or stamped, not on a loose sticker. Korean products often show the manufacturing date instead of the expiry date. Many brands list a shelf life of around three years unopened, but check the label of your product.
  • Local label: products imported officially usually carry an Arabic or English importer sticker with the distributor’s name.

If something feels wrong, stop using it and contact the store. Authorised stores will normally take back a product you believe is not genuine.

Shipping from abroad: why we leave it out

Ordering from Korea or the US can look cheaper, but delivery takes weeks, customs fees can apply, and products can sit in hot warehouses and trucks on the way, which is bad for sunscreens and actives. Returns are also much harder. That is why routine4u only shows stores that sell and deliver inside the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Start with a simple routine

You don’t need ten steps. A gentle cleanser, a hydrating toner or serum, a moisturizer and a sunscreen are enough for most skin. Our Korean skincare routine shows one way to build it, and every product links to its local prices.

This article is general information. If a product causes a reaction, stop using it, and see a doctor or pharmacist if it does not settle.
